Hi Don,
I was wondering what do you think about Agrium.
We heard on the news that prices of wheath is at an all-time high because of plans of using more bio-fuel.

Do you think it's a good idea (and time) to buy AGU?

Agrium has a period of seasonal strength from the end of June to the end of December. Technicals are mixed. Trend is neutral. Resistance is just over $48 and support is at $39.00. Momentum data is neutral. Fundamentals are positive. EPS will increase from $1.16 U.S. in 2006 to $2.54 in 2007 and $2.94 in 2008. Most of the gains this year will be recorded in the second and third quarter.

Don, does this period of Seasonal strength apply to all Agricultural Stocks?  (I did look at Seasonality under Education but did not spot Agriculture).
Thanks
AC

Yes, Agriculture stock such as Agrium, Potash Corp and Deere have a period of seasonal strength from the end of June to the end of December. The sector does not have an index or ETF and therefore is not officially included in the general seasonality list. Seasonality studies were completed on each securitity mentioned above.

By name, the PowerShares Agriculture Fund would appear to be a way to play agriculture seasonality.
However, it is just 25% each of corn, wheat, soybean, and sugar.
The following is a link to the fact sheet for the ETF, DBA.
