Pre-opening Comments for Wednesday May 7th

U.S. equity index futures were higher this morning. S&P 500 futures were up 18 points at 8:30 AM EDT. Investors responded to news that the U.S. and China have started trade negotiations.

Focus today is the FOMC’s decision on the Fed Fund Rate released at 2:00 PM EDT. Consensus calls for no change at 4.50%.

Mosaic added $0.70 to $31.15 after reporting higher than consensus first quarter results.

Advanced Micro Devices gained $1.38 to $100.00 after reporting higher than consensus first quarter results.

Super Micro Computer dropped $1.93 to $31.12 after lowering guidance.

Electronic Arts added $8.42 to $162.96 after reporting higher than consensus fiscal fourth quarter results.
