Pre-opening Comments for Thursday March 5th

U.S. equity index futures were lower this morning. S&P 500 futures were down 23 points at 8:35 AM EST.

S&P 500 futures dropped 5 points following release of Annualized Fourth Quarter U.S. Productivity at 8:30 AM EST. Consensus called for a 1.8% increase versus a 4.9% increase in the third quarter. Actual was a 2.8% increase.

Broadcom (AVGO) advanced $11.95 to $329.38 after reporting higher than consensus fiscal first quarter results. The company also offered positive fiscal second quarter guidance and announced a $10 billion share buyback program.

Stub hub (STUB) dropped $0.94 to $9.23 after reporting a larger than expected fourth quarter loss.

Berkshire Hathaway added $6.52 to $494.00 after announcing resumption of a share buy back program

Okta (OKTA) added $1.14 to $72.88 after reporting higher than consensus fourth quarter results.
