Pre-opening Comments for Wednesday July 27th<\/sup><\/strong><\/font><\/em><\/p>\n

U.S. equity index futures were higher this morning. <\/b>S&P 500 futures were up 32 points in pre-opening trade. Investors are waiting for an update on monetary policy by the Federal Reserve to be released at 2:00 PM EDT.<\/em><\/p>\n

Index futures were virtually unchanged following release of the June Durable Goods Orders report at 8:30 AM EDT<\/b>. Consensus was a slip of 0.4% versus a gain of 0.8% in May. Actual was a gain of 1.9%. Excluding transportation orders, consensus was an increase of 0.3% versus a gain of 0.7% in May. Actual was an increase of 0.3%.<\/em><\/p>\n

Chipotle gained $108.57 to $1,425.00 <\/b>after reporting higher than consensus second quarter results.<\/em><\/p>\n

Amazon gained $1.20 to $115.60<\/b> after reporting higher than consensus second quarter revenues.<\/em><\/p>\n

Alphabet (GOOG) advanced $2.73 to $107.41<\/b> despite reporting less than consensus quarterly results. <\/em><\/p>\n

Microsoft advanced $10.00 to $261.90 <\/b>despite reporting less than consensus second quarter results. The company also offered positive guidance.<\/em><\/p>\n
