U.S. equity index futures were lower this morning.<\/b> S&P 500 futures were down 37 points in pre-opening trade. <\/em><\/p>\n

Index futures were virtually unchanged following release of the U.S. July Retail Sales report at 8:30 AM EDT<\/b>. Consensus was an increase of 0.1% versus a gain of 1.0% in June. Actual was unchanged. Excluding auto sales, consensus was a slip of 0.1% versus a gain of 1.0% in June. Actual was a gain of 0.4%.<\/em><\/p>\n

Lowe\u2019s gained $2.42 to 216.54<\/b> after reporting higher than consensus second quarter revenues and earnings.<\/em><\/p>\n

Target dropped $5.72 to $174.47<\/b> after reporting lower than consensus second quarter revenues and earnings.<\/em><\/p>\n
