Pre-opening Comments for Wednesday December 21st<\/sup><\/strong><\/font><\/em><\/p>\n

U.S. equity index futures were higher this morning<\/b>. S&P 500 futures were up 29 points in pre-opening trade.<\/em><\/p>\n

The Canadian Dollar was virtually unchanged at US73.44 cents following release of Canada\u2019s November Consumer Price Index<\/b> at 8:30 AM EST<\/b>. On a year-over-year basis November CPI was expected to increase 6.7% versus a gain of 6.9% in October. Actual was an increase of 6.8%. Excluding food and energy, consensus was a gain of 4.9%. Actual was an increase of 5.0%<\/em><\/p>\n

FedEx advanced $5.75 to $170.10<\/b> after reporting higher than consensus fiscal second quarter earnings.<\/em><\/p>\n

BlackBerry slipped $0.07 to US$4.08<\/b> after reporting a fiscal third quarter loss. <\/em><\/p>\n

Nike jumped $13.20 to $116.41<\/b> after reporting higher than consensus fiscal second quarter revenues and earnings.<\/em><\/p>\n

Starbucks dropped $1.02 to $96.98<\/b> after Jefferies downgraded the stock from Buy to Hold.<\/em><\/p>\n
