Index futures moved lower following release of the January Consumer Price Index at 8:30 AM EST.<\/b> Consensus was an increase of 0.4% versus a decline of 0.1% in December. Actual was an increase of 0.5%. On a year-over-year basis, consensus was an increase of 6.2% versus a gain of 6.5% in December. Actual was an increase of 6.4%. Excluding food and energy consensus for January CPI was an increase of 0.3% versus a gain of 0.4% in December. Actual was an increase of 0.4%. On a year-over-year basis, consensus was an increase of 5.5% versus a gain of 5.7% in December. Actual was an increase of 5.6%.<\/em><\/p>\n

Palantir Technologies added $1.32 to $8.93<\/b> after reporting higher than consensus quarterly earnings.<\/em> <\/p>\n
