U.S. equity index futures were higher this morning.<\/b> S&P 500 futures were up 5 points at 8:35 AM EDT.<\/em><\/p>\n

S&P 500 futures dropped 8 points following release of the U.S. August Producer Price Index at 8:30 AM EDT. <\/b>Consensus was a 0.2% increase versus a 0.1% gain in July. Actual was a 0.2% increase. On a year-over-year basis, consensus was a 1.8% gain versus a 2.2% gain in July. Actual was a 1.7% gain. Excluding food and energy, consensus was a 0.2% increase versus no change in July. Actual was a 0.3% increase. On a year-over-year basis, consensus was a 2.5% increase versus a gain of 2.4% in July. Actual was a 2.4 % increase. <\/b><\/em><\/p>\n

WTI Crude Oil <\/b>advanced $1.23 to $68.54 as Hurricane Francine moves into the U.S. <\/em><\/p>\n

ECB lowered its administered rate for European banks from 3.75% to 3.50%.<\/em><\/b><\/p>\n

Oxford Industries<\/b> dropped $7.36 to $76.30 to a two year low after reporting less than consensus second quarter revenues and earnings. The company also lowered guidance. <\/em><\/p>\n

Moderna <\/b>dropped $5.22 to $74.29 on lower than consensus vaccine sales.<\/em><\/p>\n
