U.S. equity index futures were lower this morning<\/b>. S&P 500 futures were down 64 points at 8:35 AM EST.<\/em><\/p>\n

S&P 500 futures dropped 64 points following release of the January U.S. Consumer Price Index<\/b> at 8:30 AM EST<\/b>. Consensus was a 0.3% increase versus a 0.4% gain in December. Actual was a 0.5% increase. On a year-over-year basis, consensus was a 2.9% increase versus a 2.9% increase in December. Actual was a 3.0% increase. Excluding food and energy, consensus was for a 0.3% increase versus a 0.2% increase in December. Actual was a 0.4% increase. On a year-over-year basis, consensus for core CPI was a 3.1% increase. Actual was a 3.2 % increase.<\/em><\/p>\n

Gilead<\/b> added $5.35 to $101.48 after reporting higher than consensus fourth quarter earnings. <\/em><\/p>\n

DoorDash<\/b> gained $10.02 to $203.00 after offering positive first quarter guidance.<\/em><\/p>\n
