S&P 500 Index futures dropped 32 points following release of the U.S. July Producer Price Index<\/b> at 8:30 AM EDT. Consensus was a 0.2% increase versus no change in June. Actual was <\/em><\/a>a 0.9% increase. On a year-over-year basis, consensus for July PPI was a 2.5% increase. Actual was a 3.3% increase. Excluding food and energy, consensus was a 0.3% increase versus no change in June. Actual was a 0.9% increase. Excluding food and energy, consensus was a 2.9% increase versus a 2.6% gain in June. Actual was a 3.7% increase.<\/em><\/p>\n
