U.S. equity index futures were lower this morning<\/b>. S&P 500 futures were down 18 points at 8:35 AM EDT. <\/p>\n

S&P 500 futures recovered 4 points following release of the August Philadelphia Fed Manufacturing Index<\/b> at 8:30 AM EDT. Consensus was a drop to 6.8 from 15.9 in July. Actual was a drop to -0.3.<\/p>\n

The Canadian Dollar<\/b> dropped 0.06 to US72.01cents, a three month low.<\/p>\n

Wal-Mart<\/b> dropped $2.60 to $99.97 after reporting less than consensus second quarter earnings. <\/p>\n

Boeing<\/b> gained $3.87 to $229.49 on news that China is negotiating purchase of up to 500 passenger aircraft.<\/p>\n

Meta Platform<\/b> dropped $2.72 to $745.00 on news that the company has slowed AI development.<\/p>\n
