U.S. equity index futures were higher this morning.<\/b> S&P 500 futures were up 8 points at 8:35 AM EDT.<\/em><\/p>\n

S&P 500 futures added 1 point following release of August U.S. Retail Sales<\/b> at 8:30 AM EDT. Consensus was a 0.3% increase versus a 0.5% gain in July. Actual was a 0.6% gain. Excluding auto sales<\/b>, consensus was a 0.4% gain versus a 0.3% increase in July. Actual was a 0.7% gain.<\/em><\/p>\n

The Canadian Dollar was unchanged at US72.67 cents following release of Canada\u2019s August Consumer Price Index<\/b> at 8:30 AM EDT. Consensus was a 0.1% increase versus a 0.3% gain in July. Actual was a 0.1% drop.<\/em><\/p>\n

Alphabet<\/b> (GOOGL) added $2.27 to $253.88 surpassing the $3 trillion market value.<\/em><\/p>\n
