U.S. equity index futures were lower this morning.<\/b> S&P 500 futures were down 46 points at 8:35 AM EST. Index futures responded to higher crude oil prices in overnight trading. WTI crude added $4.50 to $91.73 after Iran ramped up infrastructure attacks Gulf nations. <\/em><\/p>\n

S&P 500 futures dropped 5 points following release of U.S. economic news<\/b> at 8:30 AM EST. Consensus for the January U.S. Trade Deficit<\/b> was a drop to $65.3 billion from $70.3 billion in December. Actual was a drop to$54.5 billion. Consensus for January U.S. Housing Starts<\/b> was a drop to 1.33 million units from 1.40 million units in December. Actual was an increase to 1.487 million units.<\/em><\/p>\n

Dick\u2019s Sporting Goods<\/b> (DKS) added $4.47 to $200.00 after reporting higher than consensus quarterly results. <\/em><\/p>\n
