U.S. equity index futures were lower this morning<\/b>. S&P 500 futures were down 29 points at 8:35 AM EST.<\/em><\/p>\n

President Trump\u2019s demand on Iran to announce a re-opening of the Hormuz Strait by 8:00 PM EST today is a major reason for early equity market weakness.<\/em><\/b><\/p>\n

S&P 500 futures dropped 4 points following release of the February Durable Goods Orders<\/b> report at 8:30 AM EST. Consensus was a 1.1% drop versus no change in January. Actual was a 1.4% drop.<\/em><\/p>\n

A 2.48% increase in payment rates for Medicare Advantage Programs in 2027 was announced. Insuring company shares participating in the programs moved higher: UnitedHealth Group<\/b> (UNH) added $26.63 to $307.99, Centene <\/b>(CNC) gained $1.81 to $37.21, Humana<\/b> (HUM) advanced $22.89 and CVS Health<\/b> (CVS) added $6.71 to $79.99.<\/em> <\/p>\n
