U.S. equity index futures were higher this morning<\/b>. S&P 500 futures were up 45 points at 8:35 AM EDT.<\/em><\/p>\n

Index futures slipped 1 point following release of U.S. economic news at 8:30 AM EDT. June Personal Income<\/b> was expected to increase 0.4% versus a 0.7% increase in May. Actual was up 0.2%. June Consumer Spending <\/b>was expected to increase 0.3% versus a 0.3% increase in May. Actual was up 0.3%. June PCE Core Price Index<\/b> was expected to increase 0.2% versus a 0.3% increase in May. Actual was up 0.1%. On a year-over-year basis<\/b>, the June Index was expected to increase 3.3% versus a 3.4% increase in May. Actual was up 3.3%.<\/em><\/p>\n

Meta<\/b> dropped $55.73 to $529.88 after announcing higher than expected legal charges in its second quarter. Also, the company offered third quarter guidance that was less than consensus. <\/em><\/p>\n

Microsoft <\/b>added $7.47 to $398.01 after reporting higher than consensus fiscal fourth quarter results. <\/em><\/p>\n
