U.S. equity index futures were higher this morning<\/b>. S&P 500 futures were up 31 points at 8:35 AM EDT.<\/em><\/p>\n

S&P 500 futures added 1 point following release of the July Consumer Price Index<\/b> at 8:30 AM EDT. Consensus called for a 0.1% increase versus a 0.4% drop in June. Actual was a 0.1% increase. On a year-over-year basis, consensus called for a drop to 3.4% from 3.5% in June. Actual was a drop to 3.4% Excluding food and energy, consensus called for a 0.2% increase versus no change in June. Actual was up 0.2%. On a year-over-year basis, Core CPI was expected to increase 2.5% versus 2.6% in June. Actual was a 2.5% increase.<\/em><\/p>\n

Super Micro Computer<\/b> (SMCI) added $3.14 to $34.74 after reporting higher than consensus fiscal fourth quarter results. <\/em><\/p>\n
