U.S. equity index futures were lower this morning. S&P 500 futures were down 54 points at 8:30 AM EST.

Nucor added $9.00 to $224.00 after reporting higher than consensus first quarter results.

Celestica (CLS) dropped $34.21 to US$388.00 despite reporting higher than consensus first quarter results. The company also issued positive second quarter guidance.

Bed Bath & Beyond (BBBY) advanced $1.57 to $6.91 after reporting a narrower first quarter loss and after reporting first quarter revenue growth.

General Motors added $3.89 to $81.85 after reporting higher than consensus first quarter results.

Nvidia (NVDA) an S&P 100 stock moved above $212.17 to an all-time high extending an intermediate uptrend.

Alphabet (GOOGL) an S&P 100 stock moved above $348.75 to an all-time high extending an intermediate uptrend. Also, GOOG moved above $349.90 to an all-time high. Comcast (CMCSA) moved below $27.48 completing a double top pattern.

Arc Resources (ARX.TO) advanced above Cdn$30.65 to an all-time high. The company has agreed to a stock and cash deal take out deal from Shell valued at Cdn$22 billion (Cdn$32.80 per share). The deal triggered strength in Canadian oil stocks (particularly “gassy” stocks).
