Pre-opening Comments for Friday July 10th
U.S. equity index futures were mixed this morning. S&P 500 futures were down 2 points at 8:35 AM EDT
The Canadian Dollar was unchanged at US70.69 cents following release of Canada’s June employment report at 8:30 AM EDT. Consensus called for a 10,000 increase in employment and a 6.6% unemployment rate. Actual was an 18,200 increase in employment and a 6.5% unemployment rate.
Delta Airlines (DAL) slipped $1.00 to $88.00 despite reporting higher than consensus second quarter earnings.
Meta Platforms (META) added $7.88 to $639.36 on news that the company is using artificial intelligence to improve its profit margin.
Circle Internet Group (CRCL) added $8.83 to $71.80 after receiving approval from regulators to establish a national trust bank.
