Pre-opening Comments for Friday August 7th

U.S. equity index futures were higher this morning. S&P 500 futures were up 30 points at 8:35 AM EDT

S&P 500 futures added 4 points following release of the July U.S. Employment report at 8:30 AM EDT. Consensus for July Non-farm Payrolls was an 83,000 increase versus a 57,000 increase in June. Actual was a 23,000 drop. Consensus for the July Unemployment Rate was unchanged at 4.2% from June. Actual was a drop to 4.1%. Consensus for July Hourly Wages was a 0.3% gain versus a 0.3% gain in June. Actual was a 0.1% gain. On a year-over-year basis consensus for July Hourly Wages was unchanged from June at 3.5%. Actual was a drop to 3.2%.

Airbnb (ABNB) added $11.56 to $163.20 after reporting higher than consensus second quarter results.

Lyft (LYFT) added $0.20 to $16.50 after reporting higher than consensus second quarter results.

Trade Desk (TTD) dropped $14.19 to $13.50 after reporting less than consensus second quarter results.
